What is Confidential Listening?

Many people when they have problems are able to talk to their loved ones, friends or colleagues about them, sort things out and move on. Sometimes though this just isn't possible.

Perhaps you don't want to tell those close to you because you think they won't understand and can't talk to colleagues because it might involve them. For some, picking up the phone and calling someone may not be an option either, whether because of disability or feelings of shyness. Some people just feel more comfortable with the instant messaging medium.

What ever the reason, I am here to listen. You won't be judged and I won't tell anyone else what you need to get out (with certain exceptions if I think you're in immediate danger, for example). You'll get my undivided attention, I won't be chatting with anyone else at the same time. I won't tell you what to do. If during a session I feel the service is inappropriate for you, I will tell you and as far as practible help you identify an appropriate place to try next.

At this point you may have a few questions. I hope they are answered on the Questions & Answers page.
